Up flush Toilet:

I am adding a toilet in the basement, and I do not want to break any concrete. What brand of Up Flush Toilet do you recommend that I purchase?

Answer:

There are several manufactures that have Up flush toilets available I would Goggle Up flush toilets and read up on the various models and then inquire about local dealers so if you have a problem they can help you. Make sure when you are attaching the base to use Red-head shields with stainless steel or brass bolts, and I would dip the shield in concrete glue and let sit for 24 hours prior to securing the toilet base. Toilet in Basement :

I want to know whether it is advisable to put a bathroom in basement, five feet below ground level. With or without installing a vent?

 Answer:

It is always somewhat problematic to have toilets and such below grade, typical plumbing for the house proper is not usually deep enough to allow for adequate flow. Pumping is a solution but not always very practical. I would consult a reputable plumber in your area for some advice. Gordon

Removing a Rusted Toilet:

I have a toilet in the basement that has been there for 50 years or so I removed the toilet but everything the bolts and stuff are all degraded and I need to remove the metal flange so I can replace it but I am not sure how or if it can be done tell me please

Answer:

Good Evening Cindy, You have cast iron pipes so you will have to carefully break out a section just below the old flange, they make a rubber sleeve that has two big pipe clamps that you attach to the cast iron below the floor and then you attached the black ABS fitting that you have bought from the plumbing store with the new toilet flange secure it in the ground and put the wax ring on the toilet with the new brass bolts and you are off and running.
